Proposed Cell Tower in Sandstone

Rogers Communications, through their consultant, Land Solutions, is proposing to build a 31.5m cell tower at 222 Sandarac Dr NW (Salvation Army/Berkshire Citadel Community Church) in the community of Sandstone Valley. They’ve set up a website in order to gather public consultation.

After the consultation period is complete, Rogers can choose to make changes from the design currently proposed, they could choose a new location, they could choose to abandon the process, or they can submit the current proposal to The City for review. Calgary.ca has a couple useful websites outlining the process and other pertinent information. This link outlines the City’s role and some of the requirements.

The City of Calgary is not the approving authority for the antennas (they are federally regulated), but as the land use authority, The City's Planning & Development department will give a letter of concurrence or non-concurrence once a submission has been made by Rogers for review.

I encourage residents to provide all feedback through the Land Solutions website before March 21.
